A 41-year-old woman whose mobility scooter collided with a car in Blenheim Thursday afternoon has died.
Chatham-Kent Police Service confirmed Friday morning that the operator of a mobility scooter, identified as Jennie Verbeek, has died at the London Health Sciences Centre.
Verbeek was operating the scooter at the corner of Chatham Street North and Hannibal Street in Blenheim at 1:30 p.m. Thursday when police say a collision occurred between a Chevrolet car and the scooter.
Verbeek was taken by ambulance to the Chatham Kent Health Alliance and then airlifted to the London hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 33-year-old North Buxton man, was not injured.
