Two women dead after ‘tragic’ murder-suicide: RCMP

Homicide investigators have been called in after a suspicious death in Coquitlam.

In a statement, Sergeant Jennifer Pound says investigators were called in after Coquitlam RCMP received reports of a 22-year-old woman in medical distress just after 5pm, on Eagleridge Drive near Guildford Way.

The woman was later pronounced dead, and police suspected foul play.

Pound says the female suspect, known to the victim, was later identified and left the scene in a vehicle before police arrived.

But that woman’s car was found at Buntzen Lake and just after 6 this morning, her body was found and recovered from the water.

Pound says evidence suggests this was a murder/suicide, but adds more work needs to be done.
