Two women accused of hoarding 51 cats

The Lincoln County Humane Society has laid charges against two women after removing 49 cats from a Beamsville house earlier this month and two more this week.

On February 2nd, LCHS officials removed 49 cats from a home in Beamsville and brought them to the St. Catharines shelter.

Today, the Humane Society laid charges against two Lincoln women aged 31 and 73.

They’re charged with failure to provide medical attention, sanitary conditions and appropriate ventilation, and cause animals to be in distress

The two are scheduled to appear in court in April.

During the investigation officials recovered 2 more felines.

The cats are available for adoption at the LCHS, Fort Erie SPCA and Guelph Humane Society.
