Two injured in motel fire : Police

Two people have been transported to hospital after a fire heavily damaged several units at the Motor Court Motel on Dundas St. in east London.

Police say one man suffered burns to his feet while the two other are being treated for smoke inhalation.

District Fire Chief Gary Bridge tells Blackburn News that working smoke alarms are the reason the burn victim’s injuries weren’t more serious.

The cause of the blaze is undetermined. Police and arson investigators remain on scene.

A damage estimate has not yet been released.

London police have reopened Dundas St. between Edgeworth Ave. and Clarke Rd. The stretch of road was closed during rush hour this morning.
