St. Bernard ‘Tzouhalem’ missing after truck theft in Chinatown

Tzou has been found overnight and returned to his owner.

On Thursday, Oct. 2, around 6:30 p.m., a three-year-old St. Bernard named Tzou was in the back of a Dodge pickup truck when it was stolen in Vancouver’s Chinatown. The truck was later found abandoned in the Fairview area of Vancouver, but Tzou was nowhere to be found.

Last night, calls began to come in to the dog’s owner that Tzou had been spotted in the area of West Broadway and Heather Street. As the owner’s search party descended on the neighbourhood, Tzou was spotted again, this time in the area of West 3rd Avenue and Cambie.

Ultimately, the friendly St. Bernard, under the watchful eye of a concerned citizen, made its way to VPD headquarters where the dog was reunited with its owner.
