Surete du Quebec investigators are on the scene in Vaudreuil-Dorion where a seven year old girl was found dead last evening.
According to Sgt. Ronald McInnis, the mother was the one who attacked the little girl, possibly with a knife, and then hurt herself.
The father arrived at the home at 9:30 p.m., he called 911 and officers rushed to a duplex on Léo Gravelle St.
The mother and child were rushed to hospital where the girl was pronounced dead and the woman is listed in critical condition and heavily sedated. The father was also taken to hospital to be treated for shock.
Officers with the SQ are on site Friday morning, interviewing neighbours. The father will be questioned but interrogating the woman will have to wait until she is awake and lucid.
