Nude man bites police dog after wild car chase, Report

A man who tangled with a police dog in Prince Albert following a wild car chase is facing a number of charges, including animal cruelty. Police say he was nude at the time of the encounter.

On Tuesday at around 2:30 a.m., police in Prince Albert were called to Little Red River Park after a man took off in his car. He was allegedly under the influence of drugs, following a family dispute.

Police were able to locate the vehicle and a short pursuit down Second Avenue West ensued when the man refused to pull over. The driver attempted to turn onto Highway 11, but instead slid into the ditch. When the man exited the vehicle, he was completely naked and took off running from police.

Jagger the police dog was called in for assistance in locating the suspect. However, when the canine officer was able to locate the man, he bit the dog, which led to an altercation between the two.

The 20-year-old man was arrested and taken to Victoria Hospital with minor injuries, and charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, resisting arrest and cruelty to an animal.
