A 32-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot in the neck Wednesday night outside Boyle Street Community Services in downtown Edmonton.

Police got a call from paramedics shortly after midnight after they found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound at 101st Street and 105th Avenue.

He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he has undergone surgery to stop the bleeding, said Staff Sgt. Ray Akbar.

Ray Akbar said police are investigating the incident and have cordoned off the area.

He does not know how many people were involved, but said police are looking at surveillance videos to get suspect descriptions.
