Joseph Maiorano : US fugitive spotted in Oakville, police say

Halton police say a wanted U.S. fugitive has been spotted in Oakville.

Anthony Maiorano, 32, has been serving a 20-year prison sentence in Savannah, Ga., for aggravated assault and robbery charges.

He was spotted in an SUV police attempted to pull over near Sixth Line and Upper Middle Road in Oakville on Tuesday. A female driver was at the wheel along with a male passenger, but the vehicle did not stop for police.

Police said the SUV was located in a nearby townhouse complex, but the male passenger fled the vehicle.

Maiorano is described as white, six-foot one-inch tall, 195 pounds, with brown eyes, short buzzed brown hair, and multiple tattoos. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with the word Facebook written in white letters across the front.
