Ex-CBCer to head ‘Q’ after Jian Ghomeshi scandal

Former CBC director of news Jamie Purdon has been named as the interim executive producer of the CBC Radio show Q in the wake of the scandal involving Jian Ghomeshi.

PURDON, who left the CBC after almost 30 years in 2012, will at least temporarily replace ARIF NOORANI, who asked for reassignment.

NOORANI, who retains an Executive Producer title with the CBC, took a two week leave of absence in the wake of the controversy that surrounded GHOMESHI’s exit from the show and the allegations of sexual misconduct against GHOMESHI by several women and one man that resulted in international headlines and a lawsuit against the public broadcasting network by GHOMESHI.
