Body discovered on Ajax school property : Police

An older man’s body was found on school property at Lester B. Pearson Public School in Ajax this morning.

A passerby found the body of an adult male near the baseball diamond on the Lester B Pearson Public School grounds, located at 21 Coughlen St., near Carrick Avenue.

The body was found at approximately 7:45 a.m.

DRPS investigating a deceased male found behind Lester B Pearson School in Ajax. At this time, it is not considered a suspicious death.

Durham Regional Police said the cause of death has not yet been determined, but detectives are investigating the school grounds.

The school has not been closed for the day, as police say there are no safety concerns for staff or students.
