GoPro Now Live Streaming to Periscope, Report

Skiers, paragliders, BMX racers and other adventurers can broadcast their action live from a GoPro to the world, thanks to a deal with broadcasting app Periscope.

Twitter-owned Periscope has agreed to a deal, which will see it supporting live-streaming from GoPro cameras.

Those who lead exciting and adventurous lives will now be able to stream their activities rather than capturing footage, editing, and uploading it so that people can view it. The process of actually connecting to a supported GoPro and live-streaming also seems quite straightforward.

For now, at least, the feature is only available to those on iOS and who use a Hero 4 Black or Hero 4 Silver GoPro camera.

Periscope tweeted an example of what it’ll look like and how it’ll work. It should make for more interesting streams. Of course, the comment posted of “Please crash” sums up what a lot of viewers might be hoping for when they tune in.

Periscope hinted that there will be several streams from this year’s X Games, which should showcase its potential.
