The driver of a minivan continued to travel for 1 km after crashing into a light standard in Headingley on the weekend.
Police say on Saturday morning, a 48-year-old man struck a light standard on Highway 1 near Headingley.
The large light fell on top of the vehicle. But it didn’t stop the driver.
He drove a full kilometre on the Trans-Canada with it perched atop the minivan.

Mounties say the van eventually broke down.
No one was hurt but the RCMP says the man’s blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.
He’s been charged with impaired driving.
