A “tough as nails” woman has given birth to a baby girl at more than 9,000m while on board a flight to Los Angeles.

A woman gave birth right in row 49. The China Airlines flight took off from Taiwan and headed for Los Angeles. Six hours into the flight, a woman went into labor two months before her due date.

Fortunately, there was a doctor on board. The doctor had been on her way back from her honeymoon.

“It was very difficult,” said Dr. Angelica Zen, who delivered the baby. “We had to work under very constraining circumstances.”

Edmund Chen, who filmed the birth, said that they tried to cover the whole row with blankets.

Both mom and baby were taken to the hospital in good shape.
