Harry Connick Jr.’s daughter arrested for Providing Alcohol to Minors “Report”

Harry Connick Jr.‘s daughter Georgia was arrested and charged with both permitting minors to possess alcohol and procuring alcohol for minors on Saturday.

Officers reportedly contacted the parents of 15 party guests, all between 18 and 20 years of age, who stayed at the house while police were on scene.

New Canaan police told NBC someone called the authorities just after 1 a.m. on Saturday to report underage drinking was going on at a party at the family’s house on West Road. Several empty and partially empty beer cans were reportedly found at the home.

Harry Connick Jr. issued a brief statement to People, saying the family had no further comments on the arrest. “This is a private matter which we are dealing with as a family,” the singer said Tuesday. Georgia is the oldest of Connick’s three daughters. Sara Kate Connick is 17-years-old, while Charlotte Connick is 13.

E! Online reports that Georgia told police she planned on having a small gathering at the home, but a lot more people ended up showing up then expected. When police arrived on scene they reportedly saw a lot of people running into the woods near the home attempting to escape. Georgia is due to appear in court on Sept. 2.

The “American Idol” judge and his wife, Jill Goodacre, were not home at the time of the party. US Magazine reports Connick Jr. was in in Philadelphia for auditions for the upcoming final and 15th season of “American Idol.”
