Branson Riley Carlisle : 5-year-old Albertville boy dies from brown recluse bite

Branson Riley Carlisle, 5, died Sunday at a hospital in Albertville after being bitten by a brown recluse spider.

Family pastor Jeff Stanford tells WHNT-TV the boy was bitten by a brown recluse spider on Sunday morning.

Stanford says the boy was immediately taken to a hospital but his condition continued to worsen. He died hours later.

A funeral home worker confirmed the cause of death to The Associated Press.

The boy is survived by his mother and father, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

    1. A good policy to avoid this from happening is to leave spider traps at baseboards above cabinets and countertops around the house. Brown Recluse and Hobo spiders roam at night and usually find their way into one. They are worth the investment of a few dollars.
