Man Surfed Dead Whale while sharks ate it (Video)

A Guy In Australia Surfed A Dead Whale While Surrounded By Sharks, Harrison Williams, 26, was spending the day boating with friends near Perth, Australia, when he made a spur-of-the-moment decision to jump into shark-infested waters and climb atop the rotting whale carcass the deadly predators were feeding on.

Video from Seven News in Australia showed multiple sharks feeding on the whale while Williams sat waiting to be picked up by his friends.

“Mom thinks I’m an idiot, Dad’s not too proud either,” Williams told Seven News after the encounter off the coast of Rottnest Island.

Williams’ stunt was criticized by whale experts, who fear others will try and get similar photographs.

“It potentially could have had some critical consequences, not only for the person but also for the witnesses and other people that would have had to assist,” Department of Fisheries official Tony Cappelluti told Yahoo News. “Ninety-nine percent of the population would see that behavior as irresponsible.”

Harrison was apologetic afterward.

“Definitely not (wouldn’t do it again) … I’ve done it, I don’t need to do it again,” Harrison told Seven News. “Definitely it was a stupid act, didn’t mean to disrespect anyone.”
