Police were out searching again Saturday for evidence related to bloody items found on Peasley Canyon Road on Wednesday.

Auburn Police Detectives and 15 members of the King County Search and Rescue Team were searching the field near the intersection of South 277th Street and 55th Ave South.

Investigators believe the man who set the fire was trying to cover up a crime. Police said on Friday afternoon that the blood was human, and that they continued to receive tips from citizens.

“There’s a lot of blood there, there’s a significant amount of blood in all of this flooring and clothing.” said Mike Hirman, with Auburn police.

So far, they have no reports of anyone killed or missing who can be linked to the blood.

And the man who set the fire has yet to be found. He is described as a mixed-race man in his late 20s or early 30s between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build and brown hair.
