Members of a notorious Scarborough street gang were behind a suspected human trafficking ring that forced young teen girls to work as sex slaves in the GTA and outside the province, Toronto Police alleged Friday.
Investigators say the victims are young girls ranging in age from 14 to 17 years old.
As part of Project Dove police executed 11 search warrants Thursday night and made eight arrests, four people are still outstanding.A total of 44 human trafficking related charges were laid.
The accused range in ages from 17 to 25.
Police say some of those arrested are known members of the Galloway Boys street gang from the Galloway Road and Danzig Street area in Scarborough.
