The Crown is seeking a sentence of 10 to 12 years in prison for a woman who admitting to administering illegal buttock injections that left some victims disfigured.
Marilyn Ely Reid, 48, pleaded guilty last month to eight counts of aggravated assault endangering life. One charge was dropped.
In some cases, Reid used syringes attached to a caulking gun.
A 28-year-old woman went to police after falling ill after receiving an alleged Botox injection.
After Reid was arrested, other victims came forward.
The Crown is seeking a nine- to 10-year sentence while Reid’s lawyer is arguing she should be sentenced to time served because she is remorseful.
