The first road-going 2017 Ford GT is finally here, and it’s just as wonderful as you’d expect.
According to Ford, Multimatic in Markham, Ontario finished the first 2017 Ford GT today, marking a major milestone in the company’s reborn supercar program. And Ford Executive Vice President of Global Product Development and Chief Technical Officer Raj Nair was on hand to mark the occasion.
“When we kicked off 2016, we had two primary objectives for our Ford GT supercar – to excel at Le Mans, and to start deliveries before year-end,” Nair said in an official statement. “We’ve achieved both.”
It’s been an epic year for the GT, and finishing production of the first consumer example is the cherry on top of the car’s 2016.
