Michelle Dobyne: Jolly mum-of-three becomes internet star after flat catches fire

A US MOTHER of three has become an internet sensation after giving an animated account of escaping a fire to a news channel.

Michelle Dobyne from Tulsa was interviewed on American news show News on 6 and left viewers in hysterics as she spoke energetically about her home being engulfed in flames.

“My friend came to the door while I was on the phone cooking me and my baby some breakfast and she said ‘Something is wrong, it’s poppin’,” Michelle tells her interviewer.

“I said ‘What?’ and she said ‘Yeah’ and I said ‘Naww’.

“So the girl came downstairs, she came out of her apartment with no shoes on and I said: ‘Girl it’s cold outside.’ She said something ain’t right; I said ‘Aw man’ and she said ‘Aw man, the building is on fire!’

“I said ‘Nah, what?’ I got my three kids and we bounced out. Uh huh, we ain’t gon’ be in no fire. Not today.”

Viewers were quick to praise the mum of 3 for her positive and upbeat attitude following the trauma.

“Need more people like this, people that enjoy life no matter what,” one commented.

“Now that’s how you tell a story! Someone hire her for the news!” said another.

Michelle is now staying in her car after the fire destroyed the electricity units at the block.

According to the Mail Online, the popping noise the women heard was caused by electric cables catching light.
