Karie Ann Benham: Woman charged with drunk driving after Burlington crash

Halton Regional Police are crediting a citizen for her quick action in contacting them after witnessing a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner.

Just before 9 o’clock Friday night, a citizen called police to report a vehicle being driven erratically on the North Service Road near Guelph Line.

Moments later, the vehicle went out of control and got stuck in a ditch.

Halton Regional Police arrived and took the driver in for a breath test which, they say, showed her blood alcohol was over three times the legal limit.

Forty-year old Karie Ann Benham of Oakville is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and failing to comply with a prior bail release condition.
