Pope Francis: Paris attacks part of a ‘piecemeal Third World War’

Pope Francis on Saturday called the Paris terror attacks “a piece” of a “piecemeal Third World War,” and said he is praying for the families of the victims, and the entire French people.

In a report from the Catholic News Agency, Pope Francis speaks up regarding the November 13 terror attacks at Paris.

The Pope said he is pained by the situation of the country and is continuously offering prayers for the victims and their family.

Expressing his love for France, the Pope says “I am close to the people of France, to the families of the victims, and I am praying for all of them.”

Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin also sent a telegram to Cardinal Vingt-Trois on behalf of the Pope on Saturday, with the offer or prayers for the French people and assurance of “spiritual closeness” with the Pope.

“The Holy Father vigorously condemns violence, which cannot solve anything,” read the message.

Vingt-Trois also invites the Catholics of Paris to pray for those who perished from the terrorist attack.

World leaders are also condemning the deadliest attack in France since World War II.
