Joshua Ryne Goldberg: Florida man planned bombing in KC during 9/11 memorial (Video)

Joshua Ryne Goldberg, 20, from Orange Park, Florida, is in custody, accused of plotting to place a bomb at a weekend event in Kansas City that commemorates the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Joshua Ryne Goldberg reportedly began talking online with an FBI informer in July – and gave them information on how to build a bomb with a pressure cooker, nails and rat poison.

He also instructed the informer to place the bomb at an event commemorating the 14th anniversary of 9/11 in Kansas City, Missouri today, it is alleged.

In a message sent on August 27, he apparently wrote: “Put the backpack near the crowd. But make sure it’s in a place where the [police] won’t think anything of it.”

According to court documents, he was traced after tweets about an Islamic State-inspired shooting in Texas in May earlier this year.

Two armed men were shot dead after opening fire at the controversial event, which featured cartoon depictions of the Prophet Muhammad.

He allegedly tweeted: “I have a vast network of mujahideen around the world, and will continue to inspire and coordinate jihad attacks around the world.”

Joshua Ryne Goldberg – of Orange Park, Florida – could spent two decades behind bars if convicted.
