Katherine and Sheila Lyon – Authorities to release new details in missing Lyon sisters case.

Representatives of the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office and police department, Bedford County Sheriff Mike Brown and Commonwealth Attorney Randy Krantz are planning a news conference Wednesday to discuss developments in the investigation of the disappearance of the sisters.

In 1975, 10-year-old Katherine Lyon and her 12-year-old sister, Sheila, disappeared from a shopping mall in Wheaton, Maryland. The girls have never been found and are presumed dead.

To date, the only charges in the case have been against a Maryland woman accused of lying to a grand jury. Her husband and his nephew have been named persons of interest in the case.

Today’s news conference is set for noon.
