Four hospitalized after suspected Surrey street racing crash

Four people are in hospital after a crash that police say appears to have happened during a street race in Surrey.

RCMP say the collision happened at about 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday.

A Honda Prelude was pinned underneath the semi while the other car sped away.

Three of the occupants managed to escape.

The driver had to be rescued using the jaws of life.

All four were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Surrey RCMP are investigating the female driver of the Honda for impaired driving and are still looking for the other driver.

The accident closed a stretch of 176 Street for several hours, but it has since re-opened.
