Pattie Boyd Married : Rock ‘n’ roll bride weds for third time at 71

Pattie Boyd, THE original “rock chick” who won the hearts of two of the biggest music stars of the 20th century married her long-time lover Rod Weston yesterday.

The couple, who have been together for almost 25 years, were accompanied at the ceremony by Boyd’s Irish terrier, Freddie. Also on hand were Pattie’s mother, and Patty’s sister, Jenny, who’s the former wife of Fleetwood Mac‘s Mick Fleetwood.

Speaking about the nuptials with The Daily Mail, Weston said, “It’s almost our silver anniversary so we thought we had better get on with it.”

Boyd married Harrison in 1966, and was the inspiration for his chart-topping Beatles song “Something.” She went on to become part of a storied love triangle when Harrison’s good friend Clapton fell for her, writing the classic “Layla” about his then-unrequited love for Pattie. After Boyd split from George, she and Clapton became a couple, marrying in 1979. They broke up in 1984.

In recent years, Boyd has gained some recognition as a photographer. An exhibition of her work, which includes images from her time with Eric and George, recently was displayed at the San Francisco Art Exchange.
