Police must have done a double take when they came across van crossing the Homer Bridge Monday morning.

The officer pulled over an unplated green 2000 Dodge Caravan, without sliding side doors.

The rear side windows were also missing, numerous items were sticking out the sides of the van, a wooden stool was tied to the van’s roof, and a slow moving vehicle sign was posted to the tailgate.

The man driving the van admitted to being a suspended driver and that there was no insurance on the vehicle.

Investigation revealed that the male had been stopped driving the same vehicle on the roadway in Fort Erie two weeks earlier.

The 66 year old male driver was issued a court date and charged with driving while under suspension, operating a vehicle with no insurance, no plates, operating an unsafe vehicle and prohibited use of slow moving vehicle sign.
