Two U.S. Marines died in a helicopter crash around 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center.
The Marines were members of Third Marine Aircraft Wing who were conducting training aboard the Twentynine Palms base.

“Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the two Marines we lost in this tragic accident,” Wing commander Maj. Gen. Michael Rocco said in a statement issued by Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.
