Briggs Fussy and Brittney Husbyn : Flower Girl, Ring Bearer Get Married 20 Years Later

Briggs Fussy and Brittney Husbyn’s wedding day wasn’t the first time the couple walked down the aisle together.

In 1995, two three-year olds accompanied each other down the aisle as flower girl and ring bearer at a Wisconsin wedding. The ring bearer was the bride’s godson, and the flower girl was the daughter of a close friend.

This past weekend, nearly 20 years later, Briggs Fussy and Brittney Husbyn, both 22, walked down the aisle again, but this time as bride and groom.

The couple, who both say they do not remember each other from that first wedding, wouldn’t meet again until 2007. Mr Fussy transferred to Ms Husbyn’s high school and the two were in the same government class.

“She turned around one day in class and said, ‘I think I have a picture of you on my wall at home,’” Mr Briggs told Fox News.

Both grew up with the same picture of them hanging inside their homes.
“It’s fun to have something special like that to look back on,” Ms Husbyn told MyFox9.

The two didn’t start dating until their junior year, and eventually separated to attend different colleges. Mr Briggs started out at University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse, but soon returned home to attend Minnesota State University, Mankato with Ms Husbyn.

“I knew I was going to marry her,” he told CNN.

The couple have been enjoying the attention garnered from their remarkable love story.

“I’m pretty cheesy when it comes to love stuff, I’m not going to lie,” Ms Husbyn told CNN.

“Everybody loves it — especially my godmother, she takes all the credit,” Mr Fussy told the US ABC News. “We will definitely print out the articles and keep them around. I’ll show them to my kids.”

Unfortunately the couple wasn’t able to create a similar scenario for their own flower girl and ring bearer.

“They’re related,” Mr Fussy told MyFox9, “so it’s not going to be the same story.”
