Plane crashes into house in Gaithersburg, Causing Fire

Plane crashes into Maryland house in suburban Washington, D.C.; no immediate word on injuries, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer.

Piringer first reported the plane crash via his Twitter account at 10:47 a.m. He said the plane crashed into a home on Drop Forge Lane off of Snouffer School Road, a location about 2,000 feet northwest of Montgomery County Airpark.

Firefighters are currently involved in search and rescue operations and extinguishing the fire, according to Piringer.

The Airpark has one runway and handles mostly small aircraft.
