New Orleans : Abandoned Boy reunited with mother

New Orleans – The mother of a one-year-old boy found abandoned Saturday has been reunited with the child.

After police found the boy around 5:20 p.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard and asked public for help finding his parents, the mother showed up at the Sixth District station around 11 p.m., said NOPD Officer Garry Flot, a departmental spokesman. The woman told police that she had a medical condition and had asked a friend to watch for the boy, Flot said.

“No charges have been filed on the mother and police are in the process of finding the female who was caring for the baby at that time,” Flot said via email. “The baby remains with the Department of Child and Family Services and the incident remains under investigation.”
