Two dead after fatal crash on the Linc

Two young adults are dead after a collision that has closed the Lincoln Alexander Parkway.

Four cars were involved in the collision just after 2 pm in the west-bound lanes of the Linc at Garth Street.

Firefighters had to extricate at least two people trapped in their vehicles.

A man and a woman in their 20′s were pronounced dead at the scene.

Another woman in her 20s was taken to hospital, while a fourth man in his 30s was treated for minor injuries.

The Linc is currently closed in both directions.

Media relations officer Debbie McGreal-Dinning is asking the public to avoid using the Linc altogether.

She refused to provide further information regarding the accident.
