Fatal accident on Hwy 401 : OPP

A second person has died after a crash on Highway 401 in South Stormont Township, about 100 kilometres southeast of Ottawa.

The passenger, Robert Smart, 61, of Etobicoke was pronounced dead at the scene just after 2:00 yesterday.

The driver, Lynda Baynton, 65, of Bradford, Ontario was airlifted to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries today.

Their families have been notified and OPP will continue to investigate why the Chevy HHR Baynton was driving left the road and struck a cement culvert.
