Conservative MP Patrick Brown is the fourth politician to join the Ontario Progressive Conservative leadership race.
He joins fellow candidates Monte McNaughton, Christine Elliott, Vic Fedeli in the fight for the title, which will be determined in May 2015.
In his speech, Brown stated that he wants to break the status quo in a party that he says has “lost touch” with average supporters.
Brown also referenced the second consecutive loss under the leadership of Tim Hudak, saying “Our members, our volunteers, Ontarians, continue to grapple with the stinging defeat of June 12th.”
36-year-old Brown has been councillor and MP in Barrie since 2006.
