Halifax : Six people injured after deck collapses

A third-storey deck crashed to the ground during a house party in Halifax’s south end Saturday morning, sending six people to hospital.

Police say Halifax fire and ambulance services were called to a home on Brussels Street around 2 a.m. They say seven people were on the third-storey deck when it collapsed. It is not known how many people were standing on the second-storey deck.

Five people were driven to hospital by ambulance with serious, but non life-threatening injuries. A sixth person drove themselves to the hospital.

Last September, about 15 people were injured after a deck collapsed in the neighbourhood of Dartmouth.
