OPP : Driver Clocked At Three Times Speed Limit

Oxford OPP has laid charges after a motorcycle was observed traveling nearly three times the posted speed limit on Rokeby Side Road in Tillsonburg.

It was Saturday when police noticed the motorcycle traveling between 139km/h and 149km/h in the posted 50km/h zone.

The vehicle was impounded for the prescribed seven-day period and his driver’s license was suspended for seven days.

OPP remind everyone that drivers who engage in high risk driving behavior put everyone at risk. Speeding makes it difficult for drivers and pedestrians to react to changes, stop suddenly and control a vehicle.

In the case of a collision, the higher the speed, the more severe the collision and the more likely that serious injuries or death will occur.

OPP would also like to remind the motoring public to manage their time and respect all the rules of the road when travelling.
