A blue whale caused quite a scare yesterday capsizing a boat and knocking the two people on board into the water.
“Oh my God!” shouted one of the boaters, wildlife photographer Dale Frink, as the whale suddenly sprung out of the water and hit the boat.
The boat captain, Cici Sayers, was the other person on board.
“I said to myself: ‘Dale, just do what you can to keep yourself safe, but if you can save that camera, save the camera!'” Mr Frink recalled.
There were no injuries in the close encounter with the giant mammal in the waters off San Diego.
A nearby boat spotted the incident and alerted the Coast Guard.
