An Internet hoax convinced some people their new iPhone 6 could be charged in the microwave.<\/p>\n

Now pictures of burnt phones and exploding mircrowaves are showing up on social media.<\/p>\n

The \u2018prank\u2019 originated on 4Chan and promises that the iPhone 6 has a new function called \u2018Apple Wave\u2019 which is an automatic function that will convert microwaves into energy and recharge the phone\u2019s batteries. If that sound familiar, it\u2019s because the same hoax was perpetrated a few years back and people apparently did fall for it.<\/p>\n

Of course anyone with a knowledge of basic physics will know that this isn\u2019t possible and at best you\u2019ll end up with a charred, broke, iPhone 6. At worst it could blow up your microwave.<\/p>\n

So don\u2019t fall for online hoaxes everyone, the only way to charge your iPhone is to actually plug it in in the same way that you\u2019e had to do for years.<\/p>\n
