Travis Vader tied to McCann killings by forensics, phone records

Newly released court documents reveal RCMP believe they have evidence linking accused Travis Vader to the disappearances and deaths of Lyle and Marie McCann.

The McCann’s were last seen in July 2010, their burned out motorhome found a few days later, and their car found just a few more days after that.

The Edmonton Journal is reporting one of the documents shows Vader using the McCann’s cellphone on the day the pair disappeared.

The documents also show a lengthy and sprawling investigation that includes tips collected from 600 RCMP members, audio and video surveillance, and tips from informants.

Travis Vader is scheduled to go trial for this next March.
